Dear friends,

2013 is now over, yes what a year it was. There were some hardships but also good times. But in all God was so good to me.
I am busy planning and praying for my trip to the US. If you can pray that God will equip me and give me direction for the message I need to take to the US. Also please pray for appointments with people that God wants to get involved with the ministry. Also ,would you pray for the Jehovah Jireh Haven orphanage. There are 100 children , and the funds are not there to take care of them. We are beginning to get sponsors for these children and need a 100 sponsors at $ 25 per month. Through the generosity of people around the world, we were able to give each child a Christmas box. It was so amazing and now people are pouring out their hearts and stepping up to sponsor children. You can play a big role with just a few dollars a month. Please let us know if you are interested.
I just read the book Half Time by Bob Buford. It is about living a successful live but then changing it to meaningful live. I could just see how God has changed my life from a rancher to what I am doing now. It was so inspirational for me, also to be more effective for His Kingdom. That is why I am so humbly thankful for all of your prayers because I know that to be more effective, it cannot come out of myself but from God.

I arrive in the US on Jan 23rd. We have meetings in Newport News, Virginia that weekend. Then we travel to Kansas City for a week of meetings and ministry and also the first meeting of our new HuntSA Ministries USA non profit. This is exciting as we see the ministry grow and serve more needs in South Africa.

Then I travel to Dallas Texas, for a week. On to Montana from Feb 10th-19th , Fargo North Dakota for presentations and then back to Great Falls and Helena Montana for meetings and participating in an outdoor show in Helena from Feb 24th -March 3rd .

I return to South Africa March 4th and a team from Montana will arrive shortly afterward to do ministry in the Transkei region and at Jehovah Jireh Haven.

Dear Friends
You all heard the news about Nelson Mandela. Yes what a sad time for SA. But it brings back the memories of 1994 when apartheid was ended and we had our first democratic election.

I still remember that time so clearly, as it was politically very tense and not a safe environment to live in. It was as if our country was balanced on the edge of a knife. Was it going to be civil war or did it mean bluntly the end of the road for white people in SA.
The attack with automatic assault rifles on a country motel who was our neighbor did not help much to bring peace about our future in my mind.I can still remember the frustration and fear. Having all the lights of in the house ,my wife and children in one room, and me heavily armed moving from one window to the other to look for any signs of attackers outside.

In the next 4 years Gods miracle of SA unfolded in front of our eyes. One man, I believe from my heart that God has been using in such a way to save our country from destruction and killing of many many people.

Nelson Mandela Legacy lives on and we are living in a reasonable safe country. We are still concerned, Africa is a strange continent, you just need one spark to ignite a huge fire. We are now in a time that is just so much important as it was in 1994.

Mandela is gone ,his dream of a rainbow nation is fading. There are concerns that politics in this country is not favorable for economic growth. Like God intervened in 1994, we need God more than ever to lead this country for the next 20 years. We also know,it's only Jesus Christ that can save Africa, not money or education.

The example Nelson Mandela has left us behind is to serve our country to make it a better place for all our citizens to be able to live a quality life. Our challenge is also to leave a legacy behind, like Mandela , perhaps much smaller. But also only what God entrusts to you.

Blessings
Rufus

Prayer Requests

Transkei in general- pray for Bible study groups to be established where there is a shortage of trained pastors.  Also, pray for favor with the village chiefs, who seem to hold a lot of power.

Mtinde- a rural village in Transkei where the food delivery has been stopped to the soup kitchen there.  Pray that the Lord will make a way to get the food to the kids.

Mamas- all the mamas need more training and discipleship in order to teach the children about Jesus, hygiene and preparing them for life.

Disabled children of Bambisana- A therapist, Elbie, from Jeffreys Bay has a heart for these little ones and has been there to help several times.  She needs help from more people or an organization that could empower her to be more effective.

Jehovah Jireh Haven-  Molly and Nels have had their funding withdrawn and are walking by faith, day-by-day.  Pray for strength for them.  There are many needs that these children have.  Pray for a way to make sponsorship possible for these 110 precious ones.  They also need a re-zoning to happen with the property, in order to expand.

YWAM- The base in Cape Town recently took a Titus team to Kwadick in Transkei for 6 weeks to work in the schools.  Pray for Sarah (the team leader) and that this work that they started there, could continue.

Permanent missionaries in Transkei-  This is a huge need for the area.  A couple from Cape Town, Gerard and Mignon, are going to be living in Bambisana until the end of next year and will be a huge help with teams coming and going, establishing relationships, discipleship, etc.  Another couple from Cape Town, Ricus and Truda, would like to return to Transkei permanently in 2015 if they can raise their financial support.  They were pastors there, previously, but were forced to leave because of lack of support.  They have such a heart for the people there.  Let us pray that God will make a way for them!

Lady Grey hospital- A government hospital near Transkei that has a condemned building, no money for repairs, and hardly enough to buy medical supplies.  They have told Rufus that they are in desperate need of a suction unit for deliveries.
We also need to pray for Rufus.  He has a grueling schedule of travelling coming up.  Pray for strength for him, for coordination of the details and his health.

Thank you for partnering with HuntSA Ministry in this very important work of prayer.
